Prime Video’s The Sheep Detectives Brings Hugh Jackman And An All-Star Cast To A Woolly Whodunnit – A flock of unlikely sleuths are set to take centre stage in The Sheep Detectives, a new family mystery comedy featuring an all-star cast led by Hugh Jackman and arriving on Prime Video this week.
Based on Leonie Swann’s bestselling novel Three Bags Full, the film follows George (Hugh Jackman), a shepherd who spends his evenings reading detective novels to his beloved sheep, assuming they couldn’t possibly understand the stories.
But when a mysterious incident disrupts life on the farm, the sheep realise it’s up to them to crack the case. Following clues and investigating the humans around them, the unlikely detectives prove that even sheep can become brilliant crime-solvers.
Directed by Kyle Balda, The Sheep Detectives boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, Tosin Cole, Hong Chau and Emma Thompson.
The star-studded lineup also features Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O’Dowd, Regina Hall, Patrick Stewart, Bella Ramsey, Brett Goldstein and Rhys Darby.
The screenplay and screen story come from acclaimed writer Craig Mazin, best known for Chernobyl and The Last of Us, while the film is produced by Lindsay Doran, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.
Blending family entertainment, mystery and comedy, The Sheep Detectives promises a fresh and whimsical take on the classic whodunnit genre.
