Set during the Reagan administration, The Americans follows the complex marriage of two KGB operatives posing as an ordinary American couple in suburban Washington D.C. As their arranged relationship grows deeper and more genuine, the mounting pressures of espionage and family life push both of them to breaking point.
Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell reprise their award-winning roles as Philip and Elizabeth Jennings, joined by an impressive ensemble cast including Margo Martindale, Noah Emmerich and Richard Thomas. Recurring cast members include Frank Langella, Julia Garner and Miriam Shor.
Created by Joe Weisberg in collaboration with Joel Fields, the acclaimed drama continues to deliver a compelling mix of suspense, emotion and political intrigue, earning its place as one of television’s most celebrated espionage series.
Episodes one to five of Season Two air Tuesday to Saturday from 23 June, with viewers able to revisit every twist and turn via SBS On Demand.
