Spider-Man: Brand New Day free coffee offer hits Sydney as Prime Video rental begins – Sydney commuters can pick up a free regular takeaway coffee at The Grounds of the City on Thursday 8 October, while supplies last. Sony Pictures and Prime Video are staging the morning promotion to mark the film’s Australian home release.

The offer is available from 7am until noon at Shop RG12, The Galeries, 500 George Street, Sydney. It is limited to one regular takeaway coffee per person, and it may finish before noon if the allocation runs out. Organisers say it could run later if coffee remains.

This is a one-day Sydney café offer, not a nationwide Prime Video promotion or a free streaming release. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is available to rent or buy on Prime Video from 6 October; a Prime membership does not, by itself, make the movie free to watch.

What happens at The Grounds of the City?

The Grounds of the City will serve the coffees in bespoke Spider-Man: Brand New Day takeaway cups. The café is also receiving a themed “Friendly Neighbourhood” makeover for the morning.

Spider-Man is scheduled to appear between 7am and 11am. Visitors will also receive one of five “Brand New Day” cards carrying messages themed around courage, kindness, adventure, instinct or possibility. The release does not guarantee that every visitor will meet the character or receive a particular card.

Gabrielle Davies, Sony Pictures Television Australia and New Zealand’s Director of Marketing, described the coffee giveaway as a neighbourhood act of kindness to celebrate the film’s arrival at home. Prime Video Australia and New Zealand Head of Content Alexandra Gilbert said fans could continue the adventure by renting or buying the film after the morning event.

Ramzey Choker, Director and Founder of The Grounds, said the café looked forward to welcoming locals for the themed coffee service.
