The Room: Shameless Media launches parenting podcast shaped by 20,000 women – Shameless Media has launched The Room, a twice-weekly parenting podcast. It draws on anonymous responses from 20,000 Australian women. Freya, Rafa and Georgia host the audio and full-length video series.

Starburst Insights conducted the Shameless Media Census. The research covers pregnancy, postpartum life and early parenthood. Its questions ranged from trying to conceive and relationship satisfaction to infidelity and the daily realities of raising children.

For listeners, the starting point is the difference. The hosts discuss women’s anonymous answers instead of structuring each episode around a single expert’s advice. Shameless says it wants to make space for the experiences that can be lost between polarised parenting opinions.

Who hosts The Room?

Freya, Rafa and Georgia are mothers from different professional and personal backgrounds: a paediatrician, a marketer and a lawyer. Their experiences include infertility and a multiples pregnancy. They have also navigated a high-risk pregnancy, neonatal intensive care and a return to work.

Shameless Media co-founders Michelle Andrews and Zara McDonald selected the trio. The network’s audience submitted thousands of audition videos. Dimity Kirkwood produces the series.

The introductory episode features Andrews interviewing the hosts. It gives audiences a chance to meet them. Meanwhile, the first host-led conversation is also available at launch.

Why the Census is central to the show

Shameless says the Census offered an anonymous way for women to be candid about experiences that are not always discussed in public. The podcast will return to those results each week, allowing the hosts to compare the research with their own lives and with the wider conversation about parenthood.

The format aims to move beyond the loudest positions in parenting debates. Its stated aim is to reflect mothers whose ordinary doubts, struggles and questions do not always receive the same attention online.

Andrews said the project is the kind of parenting programme she wanted to hear when she was six weeks postpartum. She described the three hosts as unusually strong from the start and said working with them before launch had been fulfilling.

Shameless Media’s growing podcast slate

The Room adds a parenting title to a network known for pop culture, fashion, relationships and books. Shameless Media’s existing programmes include Shameless, Everybody Has A Secret, Inherited and Style-ish.

The company says its podcasts have recorded more than 170 million listens. Its wider audience includes 1.9 million social followers and 113,000 newsletter subscribers. In addition, it launched Shameless Media Studios in 2026. That division represents external talent alongside its own programmes.

Shameless plans new episodes of The Room twice weekly in audio and full-length video.
