Channel 7 opens summer of cricket with Australia v Bangladesh women’s ODIs – Australia’s women begin their home international season against Bangladesh in three one-day internationals at Brisbane’s Allan Border Field on 9, 11 and 14 October. Seven will show the series live and free on 7two or 7mate, depending on the match, and on 7plus.
Friday’s first ODI begins at 2.30pm AEDT. The other two matches are also day-night fixtures, giving viewers three opportunities to see a reshaped Australian side before a New Zealand T20 series begins later in the month.
The Bangladesh series is the first stage of a busy Channel 7 cricket schedule, rather than a standalone event. The New Zealand T20Is follow on 18, 20 and 22 October, and the Women’s Big Bash League begins on 29 October.
Australia begins a new chapter
Australia enters the ODIs unbeaten in six matches in the format during 2026, having swept India at home and the West Indies in the Caribbean by 3-0 margins. Seven says the team has lost only one of its past 14 ODIs: last year’s World Cup semi-final against India.
The side is adjusting to Alyssa Healy’s retirement. Captain Sophie Molineux is unavailable for the Bangladesh series because of injury, while Ellyse Perry, Annabel Sutherland, Alana King and Beth Mooney are among the established names headlining the team.
All three ODIs will be played at Allan Border Field. The opening match is on Friday 9 October, followed by Sunday 11 October and Wednesday 14 October. Seven’s updated release confirms the broadcast times and channels for every match.

New Zealand T20s and WBBL follow
Four days after the final ODI, Australia is due at North Sydney Oval for the first of three T20 internationals against New Zealand. The opening match on Sunday 18 October is scheduled from 7pm AEDT on 7mate and 7plus, with further matches on Tuesday 20 and Thursday 22 October. Seven says Molineux’s return is pending her recovery.
The series will be Australia’s first T20 assignment since its World Cup triumph in the UK earlier this year. The WBBL starts on Thursday 29 October, continuing the women’s cricket run on Seven’s platforms.
Australia v New Zealand T20 broadcast times
Seven has listed the same local start time and channel for all three T20s: Sunday 18, Tuesday 20 and Thursday 22 October. Each match is live on 7mate and 7plus from 7pm in Sydney and Melbourne, 6pm in Brisbane, 6.30pm in Adelaide and 4pm in Perth.
Seven Network Head of Cricket Anna Stone said the Bangladesh games would set the tone for an unusually full season. She pointed to the New Zealand T20s, WBBL and BBL, the men’s New Zealand Test series and the 150th anniversary Australia–England Test as major events still to come.
Host Emma Freedman said Bangladesh would arrive with little to lose and could test the Australians, despite their strong form. She also highlighted the significance of the day-night format in Brisbane for a side entering a new era.
Channel 7 cricket team and summer schedule
Freedman and Jason Richardson will host the coverage. Trent Copeland, Jack Heverin, Katey Martin, Kate McCarthy, Elyse Villani, Lisa Sthalekar and Kirby Short are listed among the commentary team.
Beyond October, Seven has flagged the Cricket Gold Clash on 22 November, the men’s Australia v New Zealand Test series from 9 December in Perth, the BBL from 12 December, women’s ODIs against New Zealand from 6 March and the 150th anniversary Test against England from 11 March 2027.
