Prime Video announces Lily Allen documentary for 2027 – Prime Video has announced a feature-length biographical documentary following Lily Allen, set to launch globally in 2027.
The film will offer an intimate portrait of Allen’s life and career. It will trace her journey from her early years to the success of her acclaimed album West End Girl.
For Prime Video, the project adds another music-led documentary to its global slate. It also gives Australian streaming audiences a new portrait of an artist shaped by sharp writing, public scrutiny and reinvention.

Prime Video says the film will chart Allen’s rise from the “Queen of MySpace” to a cultural force in modern music.
The documentary will feature interviews with people close to Allen. It is being positioned as a story of resilience, creative fearlessness and an artist reclaiming her narrative.
The announcement follows Allen’s recent musical return with West End Girl. Prime Video describes the album as one of the most talked-about releases of recent years.
Mat Whitecross directs
The film will be directed by award-winning filmmaker Mat Whitecross. His credits include Oasis: Supersonic and Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams.
Meanwhile, Magna Studios and Mint Pictures will co-produce the project. Altitude will manage global theatrical release and home entertainment rights worldwide.
Whitecross has worked across documentary, drama and music video. His past work also includes The Road to Guantanamo, The Kings, Road to Tokyo and The Sound of 007.
Production credits list the film as directed by Whitecross and produced by Fiona Neilson. Executive producers include Neilson, Iain Cooke, Marisa Clifford, Davud Karbassioun, Louis Mole, Tim O’Shea and Olly Calleja.
Coming to Prime Video
The Lily Allen documentary will launch globally on Prime Video in 2027. Further release details, including a confirmed premiere date, are still to be announced.
The film joins Prime Video’s broader entertainment slate. That slate includes original films, series, live sport and licensed programming across the service.
