10 News+ moves to Sunday nights as 10 expands weekday news – 10 News+ will shift out of its weekday slot and continue as a weekly Sunday night current affairs program from August.
The change forms part of a broader Network 10 news adjustment. From Monday, 10 August 2026, 10’s weekday local 5pm news bulletins will expand to 90 minutes.
For viewers, it means 10 will place more emphasis on local news across the working week. At the same time, 10 News+ will remain in the schedule as a one-hour Sunday current affairs program at 6.30pm.
10 News+ shifts focus
The Australian Women’s Weekly reported that Amelia Brace and Denham Hitchcock will continue to front 10 News+ on Sundays.
The publication also reported a Network 10 spokesperson saying the weekday 5pm bulletin would receive more resources to deliver local stories, breaking news and in-depth reporting.
The Sunday edition will continue to focus on investigations and long-form journalism. That keeps the brand alive, but gives it a more defined weekly current affairs role.
The move follows several changes to 10’s early evening line-up since The Project ended in June 2025. 10 News+ launched soon after as a news and current affairs format built around deeper reporting and analysis.
A bigger weekday bulletin
At launch, 10 positioned 10 News+ as a program that would follow its local 5pm news bulletins and add context to the day’s biggest stories. Variety Australia reported at the time that the show was part of a larger move into nightly news programming.
Since then, the format has been adjusted more than once. ABC’s Media Watch noted in late 2025 that 10 had already moved to trim the program after its first months on air.
The latest change puts the weekday emphasis back on the local 5pm bulletin. That is a familiar strength for 10, which has long treated the timeslot as a key part of its news identity.
It also gives 10 News+ a clearer weekly appointment. Sunday night current affairs remains a valuable space for longer reports, interviews and investigations that need more room than a daily bulletin can offer.
What changes from August
From Monday, 10 August 2026, weekday 10 News will run for 90 minutes from 5pm. 10 News+ will continue on Sundays at 6.30pm, hosted by Amelia Brace and Denham Hitchcock.
The shift comes as 10 continues to reshape its broader schedule. Recent months have included changes around I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, a refreshed Australian Ninja Warrior for 10, and the launch of the 10+1 free-to-air channel.
