Reese Witherspoon Reunites With Original Legally Blonde Cast As Prime Video Celebrates 25 Years Of The Iconic Franchise – Reese Witherspoon has reunited with her original Legally Blonde co-stars for the first time in 25 years as Amazon MGM Studios celebrated both the enduring legacy of the beloved film and the upcoming launch of the new Prime Video prequel series, Elle.
The star-studded reunion took place at “Elle World”, a one-day immersive fan experience held at Manhattan’s Hall des Lumières, which transformed into a pink paradise dedicated to all things Elle Woods ahead of the series premiere on July 1.
Thousands of fans flocked to the sold-out event, stepping into the world of Legally Blonde through live improv performances, themed installations, a “Bend & Snap” drag showcase, trivia games, photo opportunities and exclusive brand activations.
The evening’s biggest surprise came when Reese Witherspoon reunited on stage with original Legally Blonde stars Jennifer Coolidge, Selma Blair, Ali Larter, Matthew Davis and Victor Garber for the first time since the film’s release in 2001.

Hosted by Las Culturistas stars Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, the cast reflected on the enduring popularity of the film, sharing behind-the-scenes stories and discussing the lasting impact of Elle Woods’ message of optimism, ambition and self-belief.
Reese Witherspoon became emotional while discussing what the film has meant to audiences over the past 25 years and also revealed details of her first Zoom call with Lexi Minetree, who takes over the role of Elle Woods in the upcoming series.
Jennifer Coolidge also delighted fans, joking that she originally thought she was auditioning for the role of Elle before ultimately landing the fan-favourite role of Paulette.
The celebration concluded with surprise performances from pop stars Hoku and Vanessa Carlton. Hoku performed her iconic anthem Perfect Day, which featured prominently in the original film, while Vanessa Carlton closed the evening with an intimate rendition of her hit song A Thousand Miles.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Hello Sunshine, Elle follows Elle Woods in 1995 as she navigates high school and the experiences that shape her into the iconic character audiences first met in Legally Blonde.
Prime Video has also announced that series star Lexi Minetree will visit Australia in July as part of the global launch tour for the series. The Australian leg of the tour will include a special launch event in Sydney celebrating both the debut of Elle and the 25-year legacy of Legally Blonde.
Elle premieres exclusively on Prime Video on Tuesday, July 1.
