Carrie cast: where you’ve seen the stars of Prime Video’s Stephen King series — Mike Flanagan’s Carrie is now streaming on Prime Video in Australia, with all eight episodes available since Wednesday 7 October. If several faces at Chamberlain’s high school seem familiar, there is a good reason. The cast mixes Flanagan regulars, Netflix favourites and a horror icon from the 1990s.

The series is a contemporary reimagining of Stephen King’s debut novel. Carrie White has lived a sheltered life with her overprotective mother. After her father’s sudden death, she starts at a public high school, where a viral bullying scandal and online cruelty collide with her emerging telekinetic powers.

TV Central’s guide below covers the main cast and where Australian viewers may have seen them before. Flanagan wrote the series, directed four episodes and serves as showrunner, while King is an executive producer.

Summer H. Howell as Carrie White

Summer H. Howell is the newcomer at the centre of the series. She won the title role in May 2025 after a search involving more than a thousand actresses. As a result, Carrie is the first major lead role many viewers will know her from.

Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White

Samantha Sloyan plays Carrie’s fiercely religious mother. She is one of Flanagan’s most familiar collaborators, and Carrie is their seventh project together.

Netflix viewers will know her from Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Hill House, where she played Leigh Crain, and The Fall of the House of Usher, where she played Tamerlane Usher. She also played grieving mother Lily Bradley in The Pitt and has appeared in Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal. Flanagan has called her Carrie performance “the best work I’ve ever, ever seen” from her.

Siena Agudong as Sue Snell

Siena Agudong plays Sue Snell, one of the students who torments Carrie and later regrets it. She led Netflix comedy No Good Nick across both seasons and played a young Billie Wesker in Netflix’s Resident Evil series. Younger viewers may also remember her as Natlee in Nickelodeon’s Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn, while film fans saw her as the young Mia in F9.

Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen

Alison Thornton plays Chris Hargensen, the role of Carrie’s best-known tormentor in King’s novel. Her earlier television roles include Lydia Spring in Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, Tacy in Dare Me, Birdie in Nancy Drew and Chloe in School Spirits. She also appeared in Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce and the Legally Blonde prequel series Elle.

Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross

Joel Oulette plays Tommy Ross. He led Canadian drama Trickster as Jared and played Hahn in Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Josie Totah as Tina Blake

Josie Totah plays Tina Blake. She starred as Lexi in the Saved by the Bell revival and plays Mabel Elmsworth in Apple TV’s The Buccaneers. Her earlier credits include NBC comedy Champions and a role in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Arthur Conti as Billy Nolan

Arthur Conti plays Billy Nolan. Most viewers will recognise him as Jeremy in Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. He also had a small role in House of the Dragon.

Amber Midthunder as Rita Desjardin

Amber Midthunder plays teacher Rita Desjardin. She is best known as Naru in the Predator prequel Prey. On television, she played Kerry Loudermilk in Legion, Rosa Ortecho in Roswell, New Mexico and Princess Yue in Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Matthew Lillard as Principal Henry Grayle

Matthew Lillard plays the school’s principal, Henry Grayle. For many viewers, he will always be Stu Macher from Scream or Shaggy in the live-action Scooby-Doo films, a role he has also voiced in animation for years. More recently, he has starred in the Five Nights at Freddy’s films. His television work includes Twin Peaks and Good Girls.

Agudong has credited Lillard with setting a relaxed tone on set. She told Collider it was “so nice to walk into a room and feel like we could just show up.”

Who else is in Carrie?

Thalia Dudek plays Emaline, a new character created for the series. Meanwhile, Heather Graham plays Mrs Hargensen, opposite Michael Trucco as John Hargensen.

Flanagan regulars Rahul Kohli and Kate Siegel also appear, with Kohli as Harold Allison. Battlestar Galactica fans may spot a reunion, too. Trucco, Katee Sackhoff and Tahmoh Penikett all starred in that series. Here, Sackhoff plays Judith Brigham, and Penikett plays Ralph White, Carrie’s late father.
