Prime Video’s October plan is not confined to originals. The film catalogue adds The Wolf of Wall Street on 6 October, Rumour Has It and A Simple Favour on 13 October, The Holiday on 15 October and Australian favourite Muriel’s Wedding on 20 October. The three Lord of the Rings films arrive together on 26 October, followed by Miss Congeniality on 27 October. Their inclusion makes the month useful for subscribers seeking familiar films between new-series episodes.
There is also a run of live music on the schedule: Amazon Music Live features Don Toliver on 2 October, Lainey Wilson on 16 October and Doja Cat on 30 October. Chris Pratt returns as Navy SEAL Commander James Reece in a second season drawn from Jack Carr’s novel True Believer. After the revenge story of season one, Reece searches for a new purpose and is drawn into an international espionage plot. The journey takes him across the Indian Ocean, Africa, the Middle East and Europe as he uncovers a conspiracy connecting Moscow, Langley and his family history.
Tom Hopper returns as Raife Hastings, Constance Wu as Katie Buranek and Dar Salim as Mohammed Farooq. Luke Hemsworth plays Jules Landry, while Gabriel Luna joins as Freddy Strain. The wider cast includes Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez and Arnold Vosloo. The season streams from Wednesday 21 October.
The sequel expands Reece’s world beyond the people who were directly involved in his first-season quest. Raife, Katie and Farooq return to the story, but the move into international intelligence gives the new season a broader geographic and political canvas. Prime Video’s description positions Reece’s redemption and the mystery around his family as the personal stakes behind its action sequences.
Carrie — 7 October
Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of Stephen King’s novel reimagines Carrie White for the social-media age. Summer H. Howell plays the isolated student, whose father’s sudden death sends her into public high school after a sheltered childhood with her mother Margaret, played by Samantha Sloyan. A viral bullying scandal and escalating cruelty coincide with the emergence of Carrie’s telekinetic powers.
The cast also includes Siena Agudong, Alison Thornton, Joel Oulette, Josie Totah, Arthur Conti, Amber Midthunder and Matthew Lillard. The new series starts Wednesday 7 October.
Flanagan serves as both showrunner and director. The series retains the central tension of King’s premise—an isolated girl facing hostile peers and a controlling parent—while the release specifically points to online humiliation as part of this version’s school environment. It is presented as a new television series rather than a film remake.
Love of Your Life — 14 October
Rachel Morrison directs this romantic drama starring Margaret Qualley as Maya. A chance meeting with Charlie, played by Gabriel Basso, sets off a relationship and a future Maya had not anticipated. When that future is overturned, she must decide what she wants from the life that follows and whether she can love again.
Aaron Pierre, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Catherine Keener, Tamara Lawrance and Corey Johnson join Qualley and Basso in the cast. Love of Your Life arrives Wednesday 14 October.
Masterplan — 16 October
Stanley Tucci leads a heist comedy about a legendary thief targeting the Mona Lisa. He enlists Chiara, an Italian cybercrime specialist, and Jay, a French explosives expert, before revealing that the pair are long-lost siblings and that he is their father. Their involuntary reunion becomes part of the challenge as they attempt an audacious theft. Simona Tabasco and Victor Belmondo co-star. The film streams Friday 16 October.
Drive – The Pretenders — 28 October
A young racing mechanic pretends to be engaged to a scandal-prone driver. The arrangement is publicly meant to protect his reputation, but for her it is a route towards a chance behind the wheel. As their deception grows more complicated, the pair risk their careers and the feelings they have developed. Lisa-Marie Koroll and Amin Baahmed lead a cast that also includes Gustav Schmidt, Mišel Matičević and Lucie Heinze. The film arrives Wednesday 28 October.
Comedy, animation and international drama
Last One Laughing UK: Halloween turns the format into a horror-themed contest. Its comedians must avoid both laughing and screaming while cursed props and staged scares try to break them. Jimmy Carr, Roisin Conaty, Jack Dee, Daisy May Cooper, Phil Wang, Lou Sanders, Reece Shearsmith, Harriet Dyer and Tom Allen are among the announced names. Episodes one to three launch Friday 23 October; episode four follows on 30 October.
Season three of Helluva Boss arrives Wednesday 14 October. The animated comedy follows Blitzo and the Immediate Murder Professionals as they take jobs across Earth and Hell. This season continues Blitzo’s complicated relationship with Stolas, while Millie and Moxxie face a life-changing development and Loona takes a larger role in the team.
Spanish thriller Red Queen returns for a second season on Friday 2 October. Based on the novel Black Wolf, it reunites Antonia Scott and Jon Gutiérrez for a case linked to the Russian mafia on the Costa del Sol. The disappearance of a mobster’s wife draws them towards an assassin known as Black Wolf, while secrets threaten their partnership and a separate trail of deaths puts other Red Queens in danger.
Also on 2 October is Mexican zombie series I Would Rather Die. After Archie is bitten at a corner store, he and his friends investigate a plot threatening their hometown of Mendoza. The story mixes adolescent pressures and an impending apocalypse; its cast includes Fernanda Castillo, Diego Bernal, Lilith Curiel and Farah Justiniani.
German relationship dramedy Friends Sex & Games launches Friday 16 October. Four couples test their long-standing friendships through a provocative key-drawing game. What begins as an adventure exposes old desires and new tensions. Paula Kalenberg, Fridolin Sandmeyer and Martin Bruchmann are among the performers.
Love in Disguise, arriving Tuesday 20 October, follows former special-forces officer and detective Kang Jae-hee. To investigate and protect conglomerate heir Yoon Yi-jun, a murder suspect, she disguises herself as a man and joins his security team. The series is based on the web novel Why Don’t You Know It’s a Girl? and stars Yim Si-wan and Seol In-ah.

The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom begins Sunday 4 October. At the centre of a continent of eight kingdoms, General Baribara’s seven sons serve as knight commanders. Each has a distinct gift, and the brothers travel as goodwill ambassadors to neighbouring kingdoms, hoping one day to fulfil their ambition of rescuing a princess.
