Doctor Who on BritBox Australia: 39 seasons from November – BritBox will add the first 13 seasons of the revived Doctor Who to its Australian catalogue in November 2026. Combined with the 26 classic seasons already on the service, the additions will bring its collection to 39 seasons, alongside the 1996 television film.

For Australian viewers, the key change is that the series’ classic and 2005–2022 eras will be gathered in one streaming library. BritBox restored the original 26-season run and the 1996 film in June. The November expansion fills the next major gap, though BritBox has not yet given an exact launch day or announced the more recent seasons as part of this addition.

Which Doctor Who seasons are coming to BritBox?

The incoming seasons cover the Ninth through Thirteenth Doctors. Christopher Eccleston begins the revived era, followed by David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi and Jodie Whittaker. They join the classic adventures featuring the first eight Doctors, including the 1996 film with Paul McGann.

BritBox says the new arrivals amount to more than 250 hours of titles. Once they land, viewers will be able to move from the original series into the revival without switching between services for those announced eras. However, the announcement does not say that every Doctor Who episode ever made will be on BritBox.

Specials and spin-offs are included

The expansion also includes Christmas and New Year specials. BritBox has named the 50th-anniversary episode The Day of the Doctor among its one-off additions, alongside Legend of the Sea Devils, Planet of the Dead, The Waters of Mars, Dreamland, The Power of the Doctor and The Infinite Quest.

BritBox has also named two spin-offs for the Australian collection: The Sarah Jane Adventures and Class.

When can Australians watch?

BritBox says the new Doctor Who titles will stream in Australia from November 2026. It has not specified the date or whether the entire announced collection will arrive at once. The classic seasons and 1996 film are already available, giving viewers a starting point before the modern-era launch.
