Michael begins as Chief of Internal Medicine, but the job tests him from the start. Joan’s condition puts the team under pressure as Amy and Richard clash over her care.
Elsewhere, Gina faces a difficult decision involving a young patient. Liz also pushes to have her complaints against Richard heard, which adds more tension inside the hospital.
The Big Chair brings several storylines to a turning point. Professional pressure, personal conflict and urgent medical decisions all collide across the episode.
