A Taste For Murder brings mystery, murder and mayhem to 7plus – The Italian island of Capri becomes the setting for a new six-part crime drama when A Taste For Murder premieres on 7plus at 6.00pm on Wednesday, 30 September.
Warren Brown stars as DCI Joe Mottram, a grieving detective who takes a sabbatical after the sudden death of his wife Sofia. He travels to Italy with teenage daughter Angelica, hoping a summer with family will help repair their relationship.
Joe’s in-laws Gennaro, played by Urbano Barberini, and Elena Da Vinale, played by Phyllis Logan, run a much-loved seaside restaurant. But a local man is found dead on a beach and their nephew Luca, the restaurant’s sous-chef, is arrested for murder.
Police work is the last thing Joe wants, yet he is pulled into the case and clashes with local Inspector Lara Sarrancino, played by Cristiana Dell’Anna. The uneasy pair eventually form a partnership as murder follows Joe around the island and the investigations expose secrets across Capri.
Along the way, Joe’s cooking lessons with Gennaro and Elena give him unexpected clues. As he and Lara dig deeper, they uncover a revelation that threatens to turn his world upside down.
Created and written by Matt Baker, A Taste For Murder is directed by Jon Jones and produced by Megan Ott. The series also stars Beau Gadsdon as Angelica.
