7plus records mega August as BVOD audience grows 63% – 7plus has claimed the top spot among commercial free-to-air BVOD services in August, with its all-people audience up 63% year-on-year.
The Seven Network said the growth was powered by AFL, Home and Away, Sunrise, The Voice, the TV WEEK Logie Awards, the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games and other key content.
The result gives Seven a strong streaming story heading into September. The AFL Finals Series, the Brownlow Medal, the AFL Grand Final, the historic NFL Melbourne game, My Kitchen Rules and the finale of The Voice all give 7plus more major live and on-demand events to promote.
7plus leads commercial BVOD
7plus captured a 48.6% share of commercial BVOD viewing in August. That was up from 42.2% in August 2025.
The platform was also number one in both live streaming and VOD. It recorded a 49.8% share in live streaming and a 46.1% share in VOD.
After a record July, August became the second biggest monthly audience in 7plus history. Live streaming audience was up 91% year-on-year.
More than 1.2 million Australians watched 7plus every day in August.
The shows driving growth
Seven said several regular programs helped drive the August increase. The Chase Australia was up 82% year-on-year on 7plus, while 7NEWS was up 81%.
Home and Away grew 77%, The Front Bar was up 75%, The Morning Show rose 63% and Sunrise increased 60%.
The Voice began its new season in August and is posting its biggest 7plus numbers, with an average audience of 321,000. That is up 48% year-on-year.
The Rookie was the third most watched title on 7plus last month, behind Home and Away and The Voice. It averaged 311,000 viewers.
The induction of A Country Practice into the TV WEEK Logie Awards Hall of Fame also lifted viewing of the classic Seven series. It drew 27 million minutes watched in two weeks, with viewing up 63% year-on-year.
Nine wins in 12 months
The August result means 7plus has been Australia’s most-watched commercial BVOD service for nine of the past 12 months.
Across the first eight months of 2026, Seven said 7plus was the fastest growing commercial free-to-air streaming service. Its year-to-date audience was up 55% compared with the same period in 2025.
Live viewing increased 78%, while VOD viewing rose 24%.
Seven’s Director of 7plus Content and Strategy, Andrew Green, said August delivered more than four billion minutes streamed, equal to about 70 million hours.
“What’s particularly pleasing is the consistency of the performance. 7plus was number one in both live streaming and on demand,” Green said.
