The Round of 16 kicks off with some mega matchups, highlighted on Wednesday by the Madrid derby between two of the glamour clubs of Spanish football, Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid.
Atlético had a great UEFA Champions League season, finishing fifth in the Matchday phase. Big brother Real Madrid finished down in 11th, having to endure the Knockouts where they outlasted Man City in a spectacular tie that had the world tuned in.
The star-studded Real Madrid will go in as favourites despite this, but Atlético packs plenty of starpower of their own, including French superstar Antoine Griezmann and Argentine striker Julián Alvarez.

Moana Pasifika host their first home game of the year after coming off two decent efforts, despite not getting the results. They host a determined Highlanders side that put in their best performance in recent memory to upstage the Blues at Forsyth Barr Stadium.
Kyren Taumoefolau has starred in both Moana Pasifika’s losses, and Jamie Joseph’s Highlanders will be wary of the 21 year old’s supreme try scoring ability.
WARATAHS V FIJIAN DRUA

The bye unfortunately hasn’t helped Waratahs coach Dan McKellar, with star Joseph Suaalii out of this clash, however he gets to test exciting young prospect Henry O’Donnell who slots in at outside centre, with flyer Darby Lancaster also included on the wing.
The Waratahs face a dangerous Fijian Drua side that is coming off a tight loss to the Hurricanes, and they’ll have a new playmaker with Caleb Muntz steering the ship at flyhalf.

Both sides have made a host of changes, with Reesjan Pasitoa coming into the Force starting side to play his first match in three years, while the Reds are without the suspended Hunter Paisami, and he is replaced by young gun Dre Pakeho.
