Fox Sports ends netball coverage after the 2026 Constellation Cup – Fox Netball’s final broadcast will be Australia’s fourth Constellation Cup Test against New Zealand on Wednesday 28 October. The conclusion ends five years of coverage across Foxtel, Kayo Sports and Binge.

For Australian viewers, the handover is already taking shape. Netball Australia has confirmed a new five-year agreement with Nine Entertainment from 2027. Suncorp Super Netball will have at least two matches each week on Channel 9’s linear channels, every match on Stan Sport and every match streamed free on 9Now. Fox’s farewell therefore marks the end of one broadcast era just before a major shift in how fans can watch.

Fox Netball’s final match and viewing time

Fox Sports will begin its final netball coverage at 7pm AEDT on Wednesday 28 October on Fox Netball, available through Kayo Sports. Australia and New Zealand are scheduled to play at 7.30pm AEDT at John Cain Arena in Melbourne. Fox’s announcement describes this as its final netball broadcast.

The Silver Ferns had already secured the 2026 Constellation Cup with a win in Sydney on Sunday, completing a three-nil series lead. The Melbourne Test still gives the Diamonds a final chance to respond and gives Fox’s commentary team its last match on the sport.

Five years of netball across Foxtel, Kayo and Binge

Fox Sports says the 2026 Suncorp Super Netball season was the competition’s most-streamed season across its Foxtel, Kayo Sports and Binge platforms. It was also the second-highest-performing season overall across linear and streaming. The broadcaster says the 2025 Constellation Cup was its highest-performing and most-streamed series, with its first two games its strongest individual Cup matches.

General Manager of Fox Sports Erin Ferreira thanked the people who built the coverage.

We are incredibly proud of what our team has achieved for netball and its fans.

During the partnership, Fox carried every Super Netball match live and without advertising breaks during play. Its coverage also included the Netball World Cup, Constellation Cup, Quad Series, other internationals and grassroots competitions. The broadcaster says it distributed Super Netball to more than 120 countries and assembled the largest group of female talent for a single Australian sport broadcast.

Its production put cameras and microphones closer to players and coaches, with net microphones, bench and coach cameras, headset interviews, changeroom crosses and live post-match press conferences. Fox also points to an all-female netball control-room crew first achieved in 2022 and repeated later. Beyond matches, it built programs such as Pivot, Centre Circle and Off the Court, alongside The 4th Quarter podcast, replays, shorter match versions and social coverage.

The on-air roster across those years included Cath Cox, Bianca Chatfield, Sue Gaudion, Madison and Kelsey Browne, Kim Green, Caitlin Bassett, Stacey Francis-Bayman and Emily Beaton. Current and recently retired players including Paige Hadley, Kate Moloney, Jo Harten and Steph Fretwell also contributed.

Netball Australia chair Liz Ellis acknowledged the significance of the final broadcast.

Wednesday night will mark the end of an incredibly important chapter for Netball Australia, as we conclude our time with Fox Sports Australia.

What changes for netball viewers in 2027?

Netball Australia says its agreement with Nine runs for five years, through 2031. In 2027, at least two Suncorp Super Netball matches each week will be on Channel 9’s free-to-air channels. Every match will be available through Stan Sport and streamed free on 9Now. The agreement also covers Australian Diamonds matches and the Netball World Cup in Sydney in 2027.

The 2027 Super Netball season is due to begin on Saturday 10 April with a Melbourne derby between the Vixens and Mavericks, which Netball Australia says will air live on Channel 9. That gives fans a defined next step after Fox’s farewell, although separate event-by-event broadcast details should still be checked closer to play.
