The most exciting game on paper in Matchweek 2, Man City and Spurs both enjoyed a phenomenal start to the season, winning 4-0 and 3-0 respectively last week, with all signs point to an action-packed contest.

Man City star striker Erling Haaland scored twice for his side, while for Tottenham, skilled Brazilian Richarlison scored what many are calling an early contender for goal of the season.

The team will cross live to Katie Shanahan alongside Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler on the ground at Etihad Stadium in Manchester, and also to the Official Premier League live site in Melbourne at Fed Square where Mark Bosnich will be on hand with the fans.

After last week’s miraculous win by the Wallabies over the reigning world champions, an incensed South Africa has sworn to be better for game two.

The historic comeback by the Wallabies score 38 straight points after starting the game at a 22-0 deficit, blowing the Springboks away in the second quarter in front of a shocked fan. Joseh Suaalii, Max Jorgensen and Tom Wright were all in scintillating form as they tore up the South African defence, and will look to do the same this week.

The Always tough Pumas gave the Kiwis a stern test in game one at home in Córdoba, eventually falling to the visitors 41-24, but will hope to go one better this week in Buenos Aires.

All Blacks legend Ardie Savea was sublime in game one and the best player on the field, leading by example in offence and defence as New Zealand overtook South Africa to be the new no.1 ranked side in the world with the victory.

The US Open Mixed Doubles competition concludes this morning, with the victors claiming a $1 million USD prize in this unique curtain raiser to the US Open.

Fans will be watching closely to see if men’s world No.1 and defending champion Janik Sinner has fully recovered after retiring ill during last week’s final against rival Carlos Alcaraz [2] in Cincinnati. Between them, the pair have claimed the last seven Grand Slams and their stranglehold on the men’s tennis shows no side of ending.

On the women’s side of the draw, world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka returns to Flushing Meadows determined to defend her crown and reassert her dominance after going without a title since last year’s US Open. She will face fierce competition from a stacked field, including Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek [2] who will stop at nothing in her quest to reclaim the no.1 ranking.

Alex de Minaur [8] and Daris Kasatkina [17] again lead the Aussie men’s and women’s contingent into the tournament, both gunning for a maiden Grand Slam title.

Australia gets their Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 campaign underway against a physical Samoan side, hoping to get a decisive win to stay atop their pool.

While sevens star Charlotte Caslick remains unavailable with injury until potentially late into the tournament, mainstay stars Piper Duck and Desiree Miller will look to get the Wallaroos off to a winning start.

Hosts England are also in the same pool, and are one of the tournament favourites after falling just short to New Zealand in the 2021 Final. The dominant Black Ferns have incredibly won six of the past seven Women’s Rugby World Cups.
