Woods questions Tigers progress
Woods said the Tigers seem to be in the same position every year. He said the club goes “one step forward” before taking “two steps backwards”.
Riccio asked whether the St George Illawarra Dragons were in a better position than the Tigers moving forward. Woods said they were, pointing to the Dragons’ incoming talent.
He noted that the Dragons had signed players including Keaon Koloamatangi, Scott Drinkwater, Luke Metcalf, Phil Sami and Connor Watson. However, he also said the Dragons still needed to find points.
Luai debate continues
The panel also discussed Jarome Luai’s future in the Tigers’ first-grade side after the decision to let him move to Parramatta next season.
Woods questioned what was coming in for the Tigers after the Luai decision, while Riccio said the debate would only heat up if results continued to bite.
Riccio said the Tigers had little room to move this week because of judiciary issues involving Adam Doueihi and Latu Fainu. As a result, he expected Jock Madden and Luai to start in the halves against the Canberra Raiders.
