Corey Parker open to Brisbane Broncos coaching return on Channel 7 – Corey Parker has told The Agenda Setters: Rugby League that he would be open to returning to the Brisbane Broncos in a coaching or advisory role.
Speaking on the Channel 7 rugby league program, Parker discussed the possibility after David Riccio raised reports of a post-season review at the Broncos.
The comments add another layer to Brisbane’s off-field discussion after a difficult season for the reigning premiers. Parker remains one of the Broncos’ most recognisable former players, and any role for him would carry clear club and supporter interest.
Parker said he has always been open about what the Broncos mean to him. He spent his entire playing career at Brisbane and has also worked in coaching ranks at the club.
Parker said he had coached at Brisbane under Wayne Bennett, Kevin Walters and Anthony Seibold. He said he would be willing to help if the club believed he could have a positive influence.
He also stressed that a former player does not automatically need to return to a club. Even so, Parker said his love and passion for the Brisbane Broncos had not wavered.
Asked directly by Aaron Woods whether he wanted to go back, Parker said he would love to help the club in some capacity. He said any potential role still needed discussion.
