Strong viewership on the Stan Sport and Nine Network platforms, coupled with the international streaming of globally relevant categories made the 2022 season the biggest yet for the Motorsport Australia and Australian Racing Group series, featuring some of Australia’s most exciting motorsport categories.

With all elements now unified and presented under the SpeedSeries brand for 2023, Stan Sport and the Nine Network have significantly enhanced their integration and broadcast for 2023 to leverage off the solid base built in 2022.

The 2023 SpeedSeries media broadcast sees Stan Sport build further integration and profile for the series with a number of enhancements to its live, ad-free coverage of all events.

Key aspects include:

– Stan Sport in conjunction with the Nine Network will expand the free-to-air coverage to now include every broadcasted SpeedSeries event.

– The Nine Network free-to-air broadcast will be increased by over 30 percent with three hours of high definition SpeedSeries broadcast live on the Nine Network.

– There will also be expanded, and enhanced category highlights replayed on the Nine Network.

– All the live action for every event, including special insights and features will always be live, ad-free and exclusive on Stan Sport.

The 2022 season was the first for Stan Sport as the exclusive broadcaster, adding to its impressive array of motorsport content including IndyCar, World Rally, the World Endurance Championship, Formula E, plus Australian Superbikes and Motorcross, plus more.

Over 1.5 million people tuned into SpeedSeries broadcasts on the Nine free-to-air offering, plus the up to six hours of race highlights per round.

The Supercheap Auto Bathurst International also saw a massive surge of social media activity, with the event and its categories reaching the devices of close to 1 million people.

In total, social media engagement was at an impressive high, with ARG’s category and event channels reaching 8.22 million people in 2022, including a 25 percent growth in followers and 4.87m digital video views on social platforms.

The final round of the SpeedSeries, held at the inaugural Supercheap Auto Bathurst International, was the second-highest rating event broadcast behind the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour back in April.

International viewers, including New Zealand SpeedSeries fans, tuned in through motorsport.tv, making the SpeedSeries and its categories accessible to the world.

The revised 2023 SpeedSeries promises to deliver more, with an expanded eight round series around some of Australia’s great race tracks is set to deliver a record year.

Mike Smith – Director, Motorsport and Commercial Operations

“We’re exceptionally proud of each and every Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships event that was held throughout 2022 and it’s clear the SpeedSeries is growing stronger every year,” Smith said.

“With a unified SpeedSeries brand and a strong calendar of events for 2023, these events are only going to get bigger, better and more popular in the years ahead.”

Liam Curkpatrick – Chief Operating Officer, Australian Racing Group

“This was the biggest year of racing that SpeedSeries has seen, from broadcasting to trackside spectators and entrant participation,” said Curkpatrick.

“The entertainment and content factor in what we have produced is exceptional and it’s a credit to all involved that we are able to achieve what we have this year.

“Confirmation of more broadcasting in an exciting announcement today, and there’s even more initiatives that puts the SpeedSeries in great shape for 2023.”

Ben Kimber– Director of Sport, Stan Sport

“The inaugural SpeedSeries season delivered for motorsport fans from start to finish,” said Kimber.

“Real racing the way it’s meant to be, with outstanding coverage. Stan Sport viewers have seen the start of something special.”
