Football on Channel 10 and Paramount+: Australia Cup final and Matildas – A three-match football run brings Saturday’s Australia Cup final to free-to-air television, while Paramount+ carries two early-morning CommBank Matildas internationals. Channel 10’s alert lists when each broadcast begins; the matches kick off later. Here are both times, in Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT).
Saturday 10 October: Germany v Matildas
Australia opens its October international window against Germany at BBBank Wildpark in Karlsruhe. Paramount+ has the match live and exclusively in Australia. Coverage begins at 5.00am AEDT, while the Matildas’ official match information puts kick-off at 5.30am AEDT. The fixture is part of Australia’s preparation for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
Saturday 10 October: Hahn Australia Cup final
Later on Saturday, South Melbourne FC meet Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park. Channel 10 and Paramount+ begin their live coverage at 7.00pm AEDT. Football Australia lists kick-off at 7.35pm AEDT. This is the only fixture in the three-match run available on free-to-air television; the two Matildas matches are Paramount+ exclusives.
It is the first all-Victorian final in the modern Australia Cup era. South Melbourne have reached the decider for the first time, becoming the third non-A-League club to do so. Bul Juach scored a hat-trick in their 3–1 semi-final win over Lions FC. Melbourne Victory beat Sydney FC 2–0 in their semi-final. They are chasing a third Cup title after wins in 2015 and 2021.
Football Australia has appointed Alireza Faghani as referee and confirmed that VAR will be used in an Australia Cup match for the first time. That adds another first to a final already carrying historical significance for both clubs.
Wednesday 14 October: Haiti v Matildas
The Matildas then face Haiti at Stade Walter-Luzi in Chambly, France. The match streams live and exclusively on Paramount+ from 5.30am AEDT. Official Matildas match details give a 6.00am AEDT kick-off. Together, the Germany and Haiti fixtures provide contrasting international tests as Australia builds towards the 2027 Women’s World Cup.
More football on Channel 10
For weekly news and discussion, Sports Tonight: The Weekly Kick-Off airs Thursdays at 10.30pm on Channel 10. The three live fixtures themselves span two platforms, so viewers will need Paramount+ for both Matildas games. The Australia Cup final is also available on Channel 10 without a streaming subscription.
