2027 Paramount Upfront: FIFA Women’s World Cup leads Channel 10 football – The FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027 will lead Channel 10 and Paramount+’s football coverage next year, with every tournament match set to stream live on Paramount+. The Matildas’ campaign will be the centrepiece for Australian viewers as the competition heads to South America for the first time.
The announcement gives fans a clearer picture of where to follow the sport in 2027. Channel 10 and Paramount+ plan to cover the national teams and domestic A-Leagues, while Paramount+ is the destination for every World Cup fixture and a range of Asian and European cup competitions. Specific free-to-air match selections and kick-off times have yet to be set out in this release.
The Matildas on the world stage
Four years after Australia’s run to the 2023 semi-finals at home, the Matildas will have another chance to challenge the world’s best. That 2023 campaign drew viewers who did not usually follow football and helped bring a new generation to the game. Brazil’s staging of the 2027 event gives the tournament a different setting and a major international moment for Channel 10’s sports schedule.
Paramount+ says every game will be available live on its platform. Channel 10 will carry Women’s World Cup coverage as part of its broader football rights, although the release does not give a complete free-to-air match-by-match schedule. Viewers seeking every fixture should therefore look to the streaming service when the tournament begins.
Socceroos and Matildas throughout the year
The AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 starts in January, with every match to stream exclusively on Paramount+ through January and February. The Socceroos will try to repeat the continental title Australia won on home soil in 2015. International friendlies for both the Socceroos and Matildas will also be broadcast across Channel 10 and Paramount+.
For supporters, this means the national-team offering does not end with the two tournaments. Friendlies throughout the year will sit alongside domestic league and cup matches, keeping the teams visible between major competitions.
A-Leagues and knockout competitions
Channel 10 and Paramount+ will continue showing A-League Men and the Ninja A-League. The competitions remain the home for local derbies, emerging Australian players and international talent during the domestic season.
The Hahn Australia Cup returns to Paramount+, allowing smaller and community clubs to test themselves against established sides in a national knockout competition. Paramount+ will also carry the AFC Champions League Elite and AFC Champions League Two, widening its Asian club football offering beyond Australian teams.
European cup football remains in the mix. The Coppa Italia from Italy and Scotland’s historic Scottish Cup will both stream exclusively on Paramount+. The range of rights means the service’s football schedule reaches from Australian grassroots and league matches to Asian continental competitions and European knockout games.
The key Australian question still to be answered is the final Channel 10 free-to-air schedule for the Women’s World Cup. TV Central will report the confirmed broadcast windows and match selections when they are announced.
