Paul Gallen v Nelson Asofa-Solomona: how to watch tonight’s boxing on Main Event and Kayo – NRL legend Paul Gallen faces Nelson ‘Big Nasty’ Asofa-Solomona tonight at Sydney’s TikTok Entertainment Centre, live on Main Event pay-per-view through Kayo Sports and Foxtel. Prelims coverage starts at 5.30pm AEDT, and the pay-per-view card follows from 7pm AEDT.

Gallen (16 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw) takes on the unbeaten Asofa-Solomona (3 wins, 0 losses) in what is billed as the final fight of the 45-year-old’s professional boxing career.

His most recent win came against Sonny Bill Williams in July 2025, a bout TV Central covered in Paul Gallen victorious in explosive fight with Sonny Bill Williams. That fight streamed on Stan, while tonight’s card is on Main Event.

Paul Gallen’s last fight

The premiership and Origin series-winning captain has already beaten former UFC star Mark Hunt, AFL legend Barry Hall and, most recently, fellow NRL and rugby union convert Sonny Bill Williams.

Gallen has built his reputation on fighting big names. Tonight, he is out to end another former NRL player’s boxing career against the 6’7” New Zealander and fellow premiership winner.

Nelson has said some pretty personal things in the lead up to this fight and I’m ready to knock his head off. I understand it’s all part of the promotion, but he crossed the line and he’ll know about it when we get into that ring later tonight.

Asofa-Solomona chases crossover status

For the 30-year-old Asofa-Solomona, the fight is a chance to cement his status as boxing’s next crossover star. He has already beaten Jeremy Latimore, Jarrod Wallace and George Burgess, but Gallen shapes as his toughest test so far.

I respect what Paul Gallen has done in this sport, but his time is done and tonight I’ll end his career for good. He is tough and works hard but Gallen has never fought anyone with my size or with my power. I think he’s underestimated me and he’s going to regret it.

Promoter George Rose: “the old bull versus the new bull”

No Limit Boxing CEO George Rose said he was delighted to bring together two of the biggest names in Australian sport for a superfight years in the making.

These guys were fierce rivals on the football field and that is certain to carry over into the boxing ring at TikTok Entertainment Centre tonight. It’s a case of the old bull versus the new bull. I don’t know which way it will go but I can guarantee there will be plenty of fireworks!

Rose also pointed to the rest of the card.

While there has been a lot of noise about Gallen v Nelson, I’m equally excited to see some of the most exciting prospects in Australian boxing return tonight. Ahmad Reda and Jack Wylie are ready for war while Callum Peters and Paulo Akuso will both have to be at their best to keep their undefeated records intact. It’s going to be a huge night of boxing, and I encourage everyone to get in early and buy the fights now on Main Event and Kayo SPORTS.
