Short won gold ahead of Elijah Winnington, with Ben Goedemans claiming bronze to complete the Australian podium on Seven’s coverage.
For Australian viewers, it was one of the clearest signs of the Dolphins’ depth in Glasgow. It also gave Seven and 7plus Sport a major early Games highlight built around three Australian medals in one event.
Australia dominates the 400m final
Short took control through the middle stages of the race and opened a strong lead. Behind him, Winnington and Goedemans surged late to turn the race into an Australian sweep.
