TV Central: One on One returns with a wide-ranging Tamara Simoneau podcast about Network 10, Paramount Australia and the future of entertainment television.
In this episode, Aaron Ryan speaks with Tamara Simoneau, Vice President, Content, Paramount Australia and New Zealand, about the strategy behind Network 10’s 2026 programming slate and how success is being measured in a rapidly changing television landscape.
Tamara oversees Paramount ANZ’s content strategy and production operations across multiple platforms. Since joining the network in 2019 to lead Studio 10, she has become one of the key creative executives behind some of 10’s biggest local productions, including Gogglebox Australia, Australian Survivor, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, The Masked Singer Australia and The Project.
Before returning to Australia, Tamara spent almost a decade in Canada as Senior Executive Producer for the international showbiz franchise Entertainment Tonight Canada. She began her television career as a reporter with the Seven Network in Queensland before moving into producing and entertainment leadership roles.
Shows Discussed
What’s In The Podcast?
The conversation begins with the bigger picture: what makes a program a success in 2026, whether overnight ratings still carry the same weight, and how BVOD, streaming and social conversation now shape the way networks assess their shows.
Aaron and Tamara also discuss what defines a “10 show”, the network’s younger and more personality-driven tone, and how 10 approaches programming decisions across linear television, streaming and multi-platform launches.
The episode then moves through several of Network 10’s major titles, including Australian Survivor, MasterChef Australia, Big Brother, The Traitors, Gogglebox Australia, The Cheap Seats and Have You Been Paying Attention?.
There is discussion about casting, hosts, audience loyalty, the importance of comedy to 10’s brand, the network’s ongoing partnership with Working Dog Productions, and the way major entertainment formats need to evolve while still protecting what viewers love about them.
The podcast also looks at upcoming Australian productions, acquired programming, lifestyle formats, late-night scheduling, production costs, international partnerships and the challenges of continuing to make large-scale local entertainment in the current market.
With Big Brother, The Traitors, Gogglebox Australia and other major projects still ahead, Tamara also shares insight into what audiences can expect from Network 10 and Paramount Australia across the second half of 2026.
