Weekly Ratings Australia Week 38 2026: Channel 7 has won the week in Total People, People 25 to 54, People 16 to 39 and Grocery Shoppers 18+ in the final week-to-date shares.

Sunday 13 September 2026 to Saturday 19 September 2026.

Weekly Ratings Australia – Week 38

The weekly shares below use VOZ week-to-date results for free-to-air viewing from 6.00pm to midnight.

Total People Network Share – Free-To-Air

Rank Network Share
1 Seven 33.1%
2 Nine 28.7%
3 ABC 17.9%
4 10 11.6%
5 SBS 8.7%

Channel 7 won four of the seven nights, with its 33.1% weekly share built on a huge Friday AFL preliminary final and another strong finals audience on Saturday. Fremantle’s comeback win over Sydney on Friday helped Seven take 46.8% of Total People in the 6.00pm-to-midnight window, more than double Nine’s 20.2%. The match reached 3.73 million nationally; Saturday’s AFL final reached 3.35 million. Those two nights gave Seven a decisive finish after a much closer first five days.

Nine won Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. The Block led Sunday and Tuesday viewing, while the NRL final added to Sunday’s contest. Wednesday was almost level, with Channel 7 on 31.5% and Nine on 31.3%. Across the week, 7NEWS, The Voice on Sunday and Monday, and Home and Away supplied Channel 7’s regular evening audience. ABC’s 7.30 and factual shows helped it hold third place; 10’s stronger entertainment moments included Gogglebox, Have You Been Paying Attention? and The Cheap Seats.

People 25 to 54 – Commercial Share

Rank Network Share
1 Seven 41.8%
2 Nine 39.9%
3 10 18.2%

Nine led the 25-to-54 commercial share from Sunday to Thursday, supported by The Block and its midweek line-up. Channel 7 reversed that five-night pattern with the AFL finals: its share jumped to 62.7% on Friday and remained at 47.0% on Saturday. That late surge was enough to turn the week into a 1.9-point Channel 7 win.

The Friday Fremantle–Sydney preliminary final was the defining event in this demo. Even with Nine taking more individual nights, the size of Channel 7’s Friday advantage determined the week-to-date result.

People 16 to 39 – Commercial Share

Rank Network Share
1 Seven 43.9%
2 Nine 39.9%
3 10 16.2%

Nine led the younger commercial demo on the first four nights. Channel 7 moved ahead on Thursday, then the AFL finals produced an exceptional 69.1% on Friday and 50.5% on Saturday. The Friday result alone put Channel 7 almost 50 points ahead of Nine for the night and changed the shape of the weekly contest.

The Block’s early-week pull kept Nine competitive, but Fremantle’s Friday night win and Saturday’s AFL final gave Channel 7 a four-point margin across the full week. 10’s stronger Tuesday result was not enough to alter the top-two race.

Grocery Shoppers 18+ – Commercial Share

Rank Network Share
1 Seven 44.9%
2 Nine 39.1%
3 10 16.0%

Grocery Shoppers 18+ produced a less uniform nightly pattern: Nine led Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday; Channel 7 led Monday, Friday and Saturday; and the two networks tied at 43.0% on Wednesday. Channel 7’s 60.0% Friday share, followed by 44.7% on Saturday, was the decisive late-week lift behind its 5.8-point weekly lead.

7NEWS, The Voice and Home and Away supported Channel 7 before the finals, while Nine’s The Block helped keep the early week close. The AFL audience delivered the breakaway finish.
