Weekly Ratings Australia Week 28 2026: Nine Wins Total People and Key Demos After State of Origin Surge

Nine has won total people and the key commercial demos, powered by a huge State of Origin result on Wednesday night.

Nine won the week in Total People with 30.6%, but the result was shaped heavily by Wednesday night. Seven won Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Total TV share, while Nine’s 53.2% Wednesday share, driven by State of Origin, was large enough to overturn the rest of the week and deliver Nine the overall weekly win.

Nine’s 25 to 54 win was also built around State of Origin, with Wednesday’s 75.2% Total TV commercial share giving the network a decisive lift. Seven had strong wins across most of the remaining nights, including Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, but Nine’s Origin result and narrow Sunday win were enough to secure the week in the key demographic.

Nine was strongest in 16 to 39, taking the week with 51.3%. This was not just a one-night result, with Nine winning Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, while Wednesday’s State of Origin share of 81.9% was the standout number of the week. Seven still had clear wins on Monday, Thursday and Friday, but Nine’s advantage in the younger demo was substantial.

Grocery Shoppers 18+ was the closest of the four weekly results, with Nine on 41.8% and Seven close behind on 40.3%. Seven won Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, but Nine’s 64.3% Wednesday share from State of Origin was enough to edge the network ahead for the week.
