Deborah Mailman to enter TV Week Logie Awards Hall of Fame on Channel 7 – Deborah Mailman AM will be inducted into the TV Week Logie Awards Hall of Fame during this year’s ceremony, recognising one of Australia’s most acclaimed screen careers.
The honour will be presented at The Star Sydney during the TV WEEK Logie Awards. The ceremony screens live and exclusive on Channel 7 and 7plus on Sunday 16 August from 7.00pm.
For TV Central readers, this is a major Australian television moment. Mailman has shaped drama, comedy, film and landmark First Nations storytelling, while the Logies are also marking 70 years of Australian television.
A Landmark Hall Of Fame Honour
Mailman becomes the first person of First Nations descent to enter the Hall of Fame. She is also the sixth female recipient since the honour began in 1984.
The Hall of Fame recognises a lasting contribution to Australian television culture by an individual, group or program.
Mailman said the recognition was deeply moving.
“This is an enormous honour and one that I am deeply moved by. I’m proud that I still get to do the work that matters to me. I don’t stand alone in this recognition, and I look forward to thanking the many people who I share this with.”
Three Decades Of Defining Work
Across almost three decades, Mailman has helped define modern Australian screen storytelling. She became the first Aboriginal actress to win the AFI Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Radiance.
She then became a household name as Kelly Lewis in The Secret Life of Us. That role earned her back-to-back TV WEEK Logie Awards for Most Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series in 2002 and 2004.
Her television and film credits include Mabo, Rabbit-Proof Fence, Bran Nue Dae, The Sapphires, Offspring, Redfern Now, Cleverman and Mystery Road.
In 2024, Mailman won her sixth TV WEEK Logie Award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama for Total Control. This year, she appears as Susan Sinclair in the Stan Original series Dear Life, which is nominated for Best Drama Program.
Mailman was named NAIDOC Person of the Year in 2003. She was later appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for services to the performing arts.
Three Hall Of Fame Inductees In 2026
To mark 70 years of Australian television, this year’s TV WEEK Logie Awards will induct three recipients into the Hall of Fame. The other two inductees will be revealed during the broadcast.
Robert Irwin will host the 2026 TV WEEK Logie Awards, with the ceremony broadcast live from The Star Sydney.
