Tonight | The Dropout on SBS 2: episodes 7 and 8 bring Theranos to a reckoning – The Dropout screens back-to-back on Sunday 11 October 2026 at 8.30pm and 9.30pm. The two episodes take Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos from mounting Wall Street Journal scrutiny to the aftermath of its investigation. Both are also available free on SBS On Demand.

Showing the penultimate chapter and finale together lets the drama’s final turn unfold in one evening: first the choices made under pressure, then the reckoning after the newspaper’s report appears.

8.30pm: Season 1 episode 7

Holmes, played by Amanda Seyfried, and Sunny double down on their defence of Theranos as scrutiny from the Wall Street Journal intensifies. Tyler and Erika face a difficult choice while the company’s leaders try to hold their position.

The eight-part drama, from executive producer Elizabeth Meriwether, follows Holmes and the blood-testing company whose promise made her a celebrated young entrepreneur. The seventh episode focuses on how its public image holds up as questions become harder to contain.

9.30pm: Season 1 episode 8

In the finale, the Wall Street Journal article is out and Elizabeth and Sunny face a reckoning. SBS’s synopsis leaves the precise outcome for viewers to discover; the episode follows directly after episode seven rather than a week later.

The Dropout airs Sunday 11 October 2026 at 8.30pm and 9.30pm on SBS 2. The series is also available free on SBS On Demand.
