Tonight | Eva Longoria: Searching For France on SBS and SBS On Demand: Paris Opens a Flavourful Journey – Eva Longoria begins a new French food adventure on SBS, as the actor, producer and passionate Francophile travels through France to explore its cuisine, culture and regional traditions.
The eight-part travel series begins in Paris, where Longoria steps into a world shaped by haute cuisine, history and bold new culinary voices.
Across the series, she will savour the food stories that have made France one of the world’s most celebrated culinary destinations. From Paris oysters to Provence bouillabaisse, the journey also takes in Burgundy, Brittany and Bordeaux.
However, the opening episode begins in the French capital.
In Paris, Longoria discovers how the city’s food traditions reach back to the court of Versailles. She explores the refinement of dining conventions linked to Louis XVI and the famous “art of the table”.
The episode also brings a theatrical flourish. At Alain Ducasse’s Le Meurice, Longoria eats a single oyster dressed in rhubarb in a striking display inspired by the Sun King’s food theatre.
But this is not just a trip through the past. Longoria also meets young chefs who are helping to shape a fresh Paris food scene. Their work blends classic French technique with global influences, creating a new flavour story for one of the world’s great food cities.
Eva Longoria: Searching For France premieres Thursday 2 July at 8.30pm on SBS and SBS on Demand
