Tonight | Dustfall on ABC: Simon is found dead as the DNA result comes in – Dustfall takes another dark turn tonight. Simon Prendergast is found dead in his car just as a positive DNA result confirms his guilt. The second-last episode airs at 8.20pm on ABC and ABC iview.
Dustfall is an Australian crime drama led by detective Tig. Tonight’s episode is the fifth of six, and the case against the men around Edie is tightening.
The DNA result confirms that Simon raped Edie. He knew it was coming. But he dies before he can face court.
Another murder?
Simon’s car was found near the Royal Arms, where Edie was. At first it looks like it could be suicide, but the detectives are not so sure.
Forensic results show Simon also died from GHB. Ulcers link him to Edie. Now it looks like another murder, and a disturbing question arises. Could the rapists be killing each other?
Answers for Edie’s family
Edie’s family is furious that Simon died before facing court, and they want answers. Edie, however, is relieved.
Elsewhere, Finn submits to a DNA test. Jade recalls Simon’s distinctive smell, a detail that may matter to the case.
Tig closes in on Andy
Tig follows a string of leads. She uncovers clues linked to a cycling club and finds a stash in Simon’s locker.
Then comes the most chilling discovery. A Polaroid of a drugged Edie is found in Andy’s studio, pointing directly to Andy.
With one episode left after tonight, the investigation is racing towards its end.
