Tonight | The Rookie on Channel 7: Nolan and Harper protect a desperate mother – The Rookie on Channel 7 puts John Nolan and Nyla Harper in the middle of a family crisis tonight. Dead Ringer airs at 9.10pm on Channel 7, and 7plus viewers can watch from 6.00pm.

In the episode, Nolan and Harper try to help a desperate mother protect her child. The synopsis keeps the details of the threat under wraps, but the case puts the partners in a position where getting it wrong could cost a family dearly.

Dead Ringer is the second-last episode of the season on Seven. The following week’s episode, The Bandit, is listed as the season final, so tonight’s storylines are moving into the final stretch.

Grey and Garza keep working with Monica

Away from Nolan and Harper’s case, Lt. Grey and Garza continue to work with Monica. Both still have misgivings about the arrangement, and the episode follows them as they push ahead regardless.

That tension is familiar territory for The Rookie, which often balances a case of the week with ongoing pressure inside the station. Nolan, the oldest rookie in the LAPD when the series began, remains at the centre of that mix.

How to watch Dead Ringer
