Tonight | SAS: AUS v ENG Recruits Face Brutal Escape and Evasion Test Before the Final – The pressure reaches breaking point tonight on SAS: AUS v ENG as the remaining recruits face the penultimate episode of the gruelling selection course.
With the final now within sight, survival becomes the only objective as the Directing Staff push the celebrity recruits through a relentless series of physical and psychological challenges designed to expose every weakness.
The Mountain Sickener Delivers Pure Misery
The episode begins with one of the most punishing tasks of the course: the Mountain Sickener.
What starts as a steep ascent carrying 15kg bergens quickly escalates into a brutal test of endurance. As the recruits struggle up the mountain, the Directing Staff pile on additional weight, including jerry cans, tyres and heavy metal chains.
The strain proves almost too much for some. One recruit comes dangerously close to handing back their armband, while another collapses as their body threatens to give out.
However, there is little time to recover.
An Emotional Test Unlike Any Other
Next, the recruits receive what appears to be a welcome reward: a phone call home.
Yet the Directing Staff have other plans.
Rather than an act of kindness, the calls become an emotional stress test as recruits hear the voices of loved ones and confront their own vulnerabilities. Every tear, hesitation and emotional response is carefully observed.
Meanwhile, the pressure continues to mount as the course enters one of its most feared phases.
Escape and Evasion Begins
Without warning, the base comes under attack.
Explosions erupt and orders are shouted as the recruits are thrust into Escape and Evasion, a notorious component of real-world Special Forces selection.
Split into Australian Team Alpha and British Team Bravo, the recruits must flee into hostile terrain while avoiding capture by a relentless enemy force.
Navigating darkness, unfamiliar ground and constant danger, they rely on covert informants to guide them between rendezvous points. Every decision could mean the difference between success and failure.
Which Team Will Reach Extraction?
At the end of the challenge, only one safe house awaits.
The question is simple: will Australian Team Alpha or British Team Bravo survive long enough to make extraction?
With the final just around the corner, every mistake carries serious consequences and the pressure has never been greater.
