Tonight | Better Homes and Gardens on Channel 7: a curved pergola and Colin’s broth – Adam and Charlie complete an outdoor living space with a curved pergola, while Colin prepares beetroot miso broth with chicken and tofu. Episode 58 airs Friday 23 October 2026 at 7pm on Channel 7 and 7two, with streaming on 7plus.

This is a shorter edition of Better Homes and Gardens because of Rugby League World Cup coverage. Rather than the usual spread of segments, the programme concentrates on two practical projects: turning a cleared backyard into a family gathering space and making a lighter meal as the weather warms.

Adam and Charlie create an outdoor room

Charlie laid the groundwork for the backyard last week. Now Adam joins him to finish the space, bringing together a curved pergola, a dining area and plenty of plants. The aim is to give the family somewhere to eat and spend time outdoors, with the pergola defining a space that works almost like another room.

The pair also share ideas viewers can use when planning and carrying out a similar project at home. The curved structure is a departure for the show: according to the episode outline, the team has not built a pergola quite like this before.

Colin makes beetroot miso broth

In the kitchen, Colin turns to a homemade beetroot miso broth for a lighter warm-weather dish. It includes vegetables, poached chicken, turmeric and miso paste, with eggs and tofu adding more protein. The combination gives this week’s cooking segment a different emphasis from a heavier comfort-food meal.
