Tonight | A Taste For Murder on Channel 7: a diver’s death raises suspicion – A Taste For Murder on Channel 7 returns to the water tonight, as a routine dive ends in a drowning that Joe and Lara do not believe was an accident. Episode four airs at 8.30pm on Channel 7 and is on 7plus from 6.00pm.

The episode is titled Arancini Croccanti, or Crunchy Fried Risotto Balls, keeping the series’ habit of naming each story after an Italian dish.

Four weeks in, the drama has settled into its rhythm: a new case on the island each week, set against Joe Mottram’s attempt to rebuild his family life in Italy.

A routine dive turns into a murder case

When a diver drowns on what should have been a routine dive, Joe and Inspector Lara Sarrancino suspect foul play. Their partnership began with a clash, but the pair have formed a grudging working relationship as unusual crimes keep emerging.

The synopsis does not reveal who they suspect or how the investigation ends, leaving the case open for tonight’s episode.

Angelica’s week brings trouble at home

Joe’s teenage daughter Angelica has her own concerns. She suspects Daniele is dealing drugs, a worry that adds to the strain of the family’s stay.

Later, Angelica slaps a rude diner at the restaurant run by her grandparents, Gennaro and Elena. Joe gets involved, and a violent fight erupts.

The series began with Joe taking a sabbatical after the sudden death of his wife Sofia, hoping to reconnect with Angelica. Tonight shows how hard it is for him to keep police work and family life apart.
