Tonight | A Taste For Murder on Channel 7: a murder mystery turns real – A murder mystery event becomes a real investigation when its host turns up dead in A Taste For Murder. DCI Joe Mottram is a crucial witness, while Elena makes plans to keep his daughter Angelica in Italy. The episode airs Wednesday 14 October 2026 at 8.30pm on Channel 7.

The setup brings Joe directly into the case rather than drawing him in after the crime. It also keeps his family dilemma close to the detective work: Joe came to Italy with Angelica after the death of his wife Sofia, hoping to reconnect with her relatives.

Joe witnesses a murder mystery gone wrong

Elena Da Vinale has her own plans for Angelica. At the same time, Joe takes a fishing trip with Gennaro that proves important to solving the murder. The episode description leaves the identity of the killer and the details of the clue undisclosed.

Gennaro and Elena run a restaurant in Italy, and their family life remains tied to Joe’s investigations. This episode again places a crime beside the food and relationships that define the series.
