The Voice Blind Auditions episode 9 recap on Channel 7 – The Voice Blind Auditions continued on Channel 7 and 7plus with FIFO worker Bertie Anderson, teenager Brooklyn Sauer and another pair of Tones And I secret saves shaping the episode.
The episode kept the 2026 season’s fifth-coach twist moving toward its reveal. Tones And I has now built a secret team of second-chance artists while Melanie C, Ronan Keating, Kate Miller-Heidke and Richard Marx continue filling their own teams.
For Channel 7, the format change has given the Blind Auditions another weekly hook beyond the chair turns. This episode again balanced big performances with personal stories, setting up Sunday’s reveal of Tones And I’s hidden team.
Bertie Anderson joins Team Kate
Bertie Anderson, 37, from Mandurah in Western Australia, performed Usher’s Caught Up and earned three chair turns. The FIFO worker, who has spent 15 years working in the Pilbara, told the show he had left his job to pursue music.
Melanie C praised his natural cool and ease on stage. Kate Miller-Heidke called him a star, pointing to his vocals, stage presence and versatility. Kate also used her block on Melanie C, with Bertie joining Team Kate.

Brooklyn Sauer delivers emotional audition
Brooklyn Sauer, 15, from Bundaberg in Queensland, performed Lady Gaga’s Always Remember Us This Way and earned two chair turns before joining Team Ronan.
Brooklyn shared that music became her refuge after she survived a shark attack in 2024. She recalled being dragged underwater while swimming with friends off the Queensland coast, before later being airlifted to Brisbane Children’s Hospital and receiving 230 stitches for more than 40 puncture wounds.
Her performance led to another coach-block moment, with Ronan Keating blocking Richard Marx.

Madeline Beckett returns to the stage
Madeline Beckett, 35, from Mosman in New South Wales, delivered Janis Joplin’s Piece of My Heart. The performance earned three chair turns and placed her on Team Kate Miller-Heidke.
Madeline told the coaches she had not performed for a decade because of performance anxiety. Melanie C spoke about her own experience with stage fright, while Ronan said a voice like Madeline’s should not have been hidden for so long.

Tones And I adds two more secret saves
Carla Venkatya, 18, from Victoria, performed ABBA’s The Winner Takes It All. She did not receive a chair turn, but Tones And I stepped in with a secret save after praising her maturity as a vocalist and performer.

Megan Donnelly, 29, from New South Wales, also received no chair turns after performing Maggie Rogers’ Light On. The coaches felt nerves affected the performance, but Tones And I added Megan to her secret team.
Tones And I has now saved Red Roy, Jamie Koul, Lilita Keni, Dicko, Georgia Dabbous, Cris J, Mikayla Durrant, Moniquewa Williams, Megan Donnelly and Carla Venkatya across the Blind Auditions.
Sunday’s episode will reveal Tones And I’s secret team to the other coaches, with the saved artists returning for another chance to turn a chair.
