VERITY TRAILER AND POSTER REVEAL ANNE HATHAWAY THRILLER – Amazon MGM Studios has released the official trailer and poster for Verity, the new psychological thriller based on Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel.
The film will open only in Australian cinemas on Thursday, 1 October 2026, giving Hoover readers and thriller fans another major book-to-screen adaptation to watch on the big screen.
For Australian audiences, the release is notable because Verity arrives as a theatrical event rather than a streaming-first title. The film also brings together three high-profile leads in Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett.

About Verity
Verity follows renowned author Verity Crawford, played by Anne Hathaway, and Lowen Ashleigh, played by Dakota Johnson.
Lowen is a struggling writer who relocates to the remote Crawford estate to ghostwrite for Verity. Once there, she uncovers what appears to be Verity’s chilling autobiographical notes.
Those notes contain disturbing confessions about Verity’s husband Jeremy, played by Josh Hartnett. Lowen then finds it increasingly difficult to separate fiction from reality, manipulation from attraction, and opportunity from obsession.

The cast includes Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, Josh Hartnett, Ismael Cruz Cordova and Brady Wagner.
Michael Showalter directs the film, with a screenplay by Nick Antosca. The film is based on Hoover’s novel and is produced by Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund, Stacey Sher, Michael Showalter, Jordana Mollick, Anne Hathaway and Colleen Hoover.
Kerry Orent, Dakota Johnson and Lauren Levine are executive producers.
A Dark New Poster
The official poster leans into the film’s psychological thriller tone, placing the central trio inside a striking image built around Verity’s name and the line, “There is no light where we’re going”.
VERITY opens only in Australian cinemas on Thursday, 1 October 2026.
