Tina Arena to join Sydney Q&A screenings for Unravel Me – Tina Arena will join Mary Coustas on stage for special Sydney preview screenings of Tina Arena: Unravel Me.

The in-conversation events will take place on Sunday, 23 August. They come ahead of the documentary’s national cinema release on Thursday, 27 August.

For Australian audiences, the film arrives at a major moment in Arena’s career. It marks 50 years in the spotlight and offers a new cinema portrait of one of the country’s most successful music artists.

The Sydney events also give fans an early chance to hear from Arena in person. Coustas will lead the conversations after each preview screening.

Arena will appear with Coustas after preview screenings at three Sydney cinemas. Tickets are on sale now.

About The Film

Tina Arena: Unravel Me is an intimate portrait of Arena. It looks at Tina the icon and Tina the woman.

The documentary uses archival footage and new interviews. Together, they explore five decades of fame and the personal story behind Arena’s career.

The film includes interviews with Arena’s sisters and her mentor Johnny Young. It also features Celine Dion, Ronan Keating, Marc Anthony, Desmond Child and Jessica Mauboy.

Meanwhile, the story follows the world premiere at the Astor Theatre as part of the Melbourne International Film Festival. That premiere introduced the documentary before its wider cinema release.

Creative Team

Tina Arena: Unravel Me is a Helium Pictures production. Adrian Russell Wills directs the film.

Jessica Carrera wrote and produced the documentary. Mark Fennessy and Tina Arena serve as executive producers.

The film received principal production funding from Screen Australia. It was post produced in New South Wales. It was also financed in association with Screen NSW, Seven Network and The Post Lounge.

As a result, the documentary brings together Arena’s public life, private reflections and major creative collaborators. It also places her Australian story inside a wider international music career.

Tina Arena: Unravel Me releases in cinemas nationally on Thursday, 27 August.
