Brad Pitt returns to a very different Hollywood
Netflix describes the film’s 1977 setting as a very different Hollywood. The trailer places Cliff back in the entertainment industry’s orbit while retaining the laid-back confidence, danger and dry humour associated with the character.
Pitt’s return is the central attraction. However, the creative pairing behind the film is equally significant. Fincher directs the project, while Tarantino supplies the screenplay and continues Cliff Booth’s story.

Elizabeth Debicki leads the supporting cast
Pitt is joined by Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Peter Weller. Their roles have not been detailed in the media release, but the ensemble places several established film and television performers around Cliff’s new Hollywood story.
Netflix’s official consumer listing also names Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis and Karren Karagulian in the cast. Together, they expand the world surrounding Cliff as he navigates the film’s 1977 setting.
IMAX and Netflix release dates
Australian audiences will first be able to see The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth in IMAX from 26 November. The film then moves to Netflix on 23 December, placing it among the service’s key holiday-season releases.
The gap between the two dates gives cinema audiences an early opportunity to watch the film in a premium format. Meanwhile, its Netflix launch makes it available to subscribers shortly before Christmas.
