Other Mommy trailer: Jessica Chastain faces a sinister double in new horror film – Universal Pictures has released the second trailer for Other Mommy, the new horror film starring Jessica Chastain in dual roles as a mother and the sinister entity that takes her form.
Opening in Australian cinemas on 8 October, the film follows young Bela as a disturbing presence enters her home and forms a relationship with her. The entity looks uncannily like Bela’s own mother, pulling the family into a nightmare that tests what they believe about the threat living with them.
Rob Savage directs from a screenplay by Nathan Elston, adapted from Josh Malerman’s novel Incidents Around the House. James Wan produces through Blumhouse Atomic Monster, with Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Savage, Malerman and Ryan Lewis serving as executive producers.
Chastain is joined by Jay Duplass as Bela’s father, Arabella Olivia Clark as Bela, Dichen Lachman, Arian Moayed and Karen Allen. The release positions the film as a psychological horror story built around the family’s confrontation with the figure they come to know as “Other Mommy.”
