Club Kid trailer: A24 sets Jordan Firstman’s directorial debut for January cinemas – A24 has released the official Australian and New Zealand trailer for Club Kid, Jordan Firstman’s heart-stealing directorial debut.
The film opens in cinemas across Australia and New Zealand on Thursday, 14 January 2027. Firstman stars alongside Reggie Absolom and Diego Calva.
Club Kid joins a growing A24 summer slate for local cinemas, following TV Central’s report that You Can See Everything has a 12 November ANZ cinema release. According to A24’s press notes, the film arrives after a triumphant Cannes debut that sparked a bidding war.

What is Club Kid about?
A hard-partying New York City club promoter sees his whirlwind lifestyle upended by the arrival of the 10-year-old son he never knew he had.
Firstman plays Peter, a professional clubgoer hungover from a decade of hard-partying in New York. When a British woman, played by Kirby Howell-Baptiste, arrives at his apartment with 10-year-old Arlo (Absolom), Peter’s life changes in an instant. He turns to social worker Oscar, played by Calva, to help father and son navigate parenting in Manhattan.

Firstman, who also wrote the film, said in A24’s production notes that it had been amazing to have “70-year-old women come up to me after screenings with tears in their eyes.”
For whatever reason this story that should feel very outside of their world is connecting with them, because at the end of the day it’s a story about a person growing up. And that’s something everyone has to do at a certain point.

Club Kid opens in cinemas across Australia and New Zealand on 14 January 2027.
