The Assassin on Stan trailer – Stan today released the action-packed trailer starring Keeley Hawes (Scoop, Miss Austen, The Bodyguard) and Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor, Bates Motel) in its latest Original series, The Assassin.
Created by writing duo Harry & Jack Williams, the six-part series is produced by award-winning production company Two Brothers Pictures (The Tourist, Boat Story, Fleabag).
The trailer sees retired assassin Julie (Hawes) and her estranged son Edward (Highmore) amidst high-stake drama and thrilling action as they are forced to flee an idyllic Greek island when Julie’s dangerous past catches up with her. With questions around Edward’s paternity and Julie’s past life as a hitwoman, the pair go on the run across Europe, working together in a fight for survival.
Along the way, their dysfunctional relationship is tested to its limits. They uncover a dark conspiracy they believe to be their only threat, but a greater danger emerges that could destroy their relationship entirely.
In a race against time, Julie fights to save Edward and salvage their relationship as past and present collide in a showdown across the globe…
Alongside Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore, who each serve as Executive Producers, The Assassin also stars renowned cast including Australian’s own Shalom Brune-Franklin (Stan Original The Tourist, Baby Reindeer), Devon Terrell (Stan Original Totally Completely Fine, Cursed) and Alan Dale (Dynasty, Lost). Alongside internationals, Gina Gershon (Riverdale, New Amsterdam), Jack Davenport (The Morning Show, Pirates of the Caribbean), Gerald Kyd (The Swarm, The Split), Richard Dormer (Blue Lights, Game of Thrones) and David Dencik (The Ipcress File, No Time To Die).
The Assassin is a Two Brothers Pictures (an All3Media company) production for Prime Video for UK and Ireland, in association with All3Media International, ZDF who is German co-production partner, and Stan.
The 6×60 drama has been written and created by Harry and Jack Williams (The Tourist, Boat Story, The Missing) with Krissie Ducker (Killing Eve, Sweetpea), Hamish Wright (Significant Other) – who serve as executive producers – and Selina Lim (Sex Education) also writing. Sarah Hammond (The Tourist, Boat Story), Daisy Mount (Wilderness, The Rig) and Alex Mercer (The Tourist, Inside Man) serve as executive producers for Two Brothers Pictures, and Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore also serving as executive producers.
Nige Watson (One Day) is producer with Lisa Mulcahy (The Tourist) directing episodes 1-3 and Australian Daniel Nettheim (The Tourist, Stan Original Critical Incident) directing episodes 4-6. Kelly Valentine Hendry (Bridgerton) and Jessica Mescall (Mary & George) serve as casting directors. Faliro House Productions are the Greek service company.
