The Good Doctor on Channel 7 – A tearful goodbye. The Good Doctor returns for its seventh and final season.
Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) and the staff of San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital make their final rounds when hit US medical drama, The Good Doctor, returns for its seventh and final season on Tuesday, 28 May at 8.30pm on Channel 7 and 7plus.
The 10-episode farewell season is marked by heartbreak, hope and harrowing life and death situations, as well as the return of two fan favourites, in what producers assure fans is a “great, great ending” to Shaun’s story.
“We are incredibly proud of the work we’ve done and the message we’ve been privileged to be a part of,”
– co-showrunners David Shore and Liz Friedman and fellow executive producer Erin Gunn said in a statement.
“We look forward to giving our fantastic fans, the truly extraordinary Freddie Highmore, the rest of our talented actors [and friends], and the best crew in the business the series ending that you all deserve.”
Highmore, who is also an Executive Producer of the series, says:
“Playing Dr. Shaun Murphy has been an immense privilege and one of the most remarkable and rewarding experiences of my life. Caring deeply is what got us here. Thank you to everyone who has watched along at home.”
The unforgettable final season of The Good Doctor picks up with Shaun and Lea (Paige Spara) adjusting to parenthood as they debate the importance of schedule and routine for son Steve. Shaun also takes on his first case back at the hospital with two baby patients in need of the same heart.
In addition to Highmore and Spara, the final season main cast includes Richard Schiff as Dr. Aaron Glassman, Fiona Gubelmann as Dr. Morgan Reznick, Will Yun Lee as Dr. Alex Park, Christina Chang as Dr. Audrey Lim, Bria Samoné Henderson as Dr. Jordan Allen, and Noah Galvin as Dr. Asher Wolke.
