Prime Video unveils The Love Hypothesis official trailer – Prime Video has released the official trailer for The Love Hypothesis, the screen adaptation of Ali Hazelwood’s New York Times bestselling novel.

The film streams globally on Prime Video from 23 September 2026 and stars Lili Reinhart as Olive, a PhD candidate whose carefully planned academic future is disrupted by an unexpected fake relationship.

For Australian Prime Video viewers, the film adds another major book-to-screen romance to the streaming calendar. It also arrives with a built-in fanbase from Hazelwood’s novel, which has become a standout title in contemporary romance.

About The Love Hypothesis

The Love Hypothesis follows Olive, a brilliant PhD candidate focused on her future in academia. When she realises her best friend Ahn has fallen for her crush Jeremy, Olive impulsively kisses intimidating professor Adam Carlsen to prove she has moved on.

What starts as a desperate act of friendship becomes a fake relationship with rules, boundaries and a mutually beneficial agreement. However, the arrangement begins to blur the line between performance and reality.

The film is directed by Claire Scanlon and written by Sarah Rothschild. Elizabeth Cantillon produces.
