Carrie trailer previews Mike Flanagan’s Prime Video reimagining – Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer for Carrie, Mike Flanagan’s new eight-episode take on Stephen King’s landmark debut novel. All eight episodes arrive on Prime Video on Wednesday, 7 October.

The series puts Summer H. Howell in the title role of Carrie White, a teenager navigating the cruelty and pressure of modern high school while mysterious telekinetic powers begin to emerge. Samantha Sloyan plays Carrie’s fiercely protective mother, Margaret White, alongside a cast that includes Siena Agudong, Alison Thornton, Joel Oulette, Amber Midthunder and Matthew Lillard.
Flanagan’s move from an iconic novel to an eight-part serial gives the story room to explore its characters and the social-media-age pressures surrounding Carrie, rather than simply retelling the familiar screen version. For Prime Video, it is a major genre launch with a complete-season drop for Australian viewers.

Written and executive produced by Flanagan, with Stephen King also serving as an executive producer, Carrie is the story’s first television-series adaptation. The new version follows Carrie after the death of her father forces her into public high school, where a viral bullying scandal sweeps through her community.
