Ali G: Who Iz I? streams on Prime Video from 28 October – Ali G is coming home. Ali G: Who Iz I?, starring and directed by Sacha Baron Cohen, arrives on Prime Video in Australia on Wednesday, 28 October.
The streaming debut comes less than a week after the comedy opened in Australian cinemas. When TV Central covered the Ali G: Who Iz I? trailer and poster in August, the film was set as a cinema-only release. Now Ali G on Prime Video means subscribers can watch at home from this week.
The film marks Cohen’s directorial debut. It also brings back one of his best-known comic characters on screen for the first time in more than two decades.
What is Ali G: Who Iz I? about?
According to Prime Video, Ali G has spent twenty years “chillin’, tokin’ and bonin’”. Then he is shocked to discover that his long-term girlfriend, Julie, is eight months pregnant.
Faced with an extra mouth to feed, he “gets off his batty” and heads to America to reclaim his former glory. However, he soon encounters adversaries who will ultimately threaten his and his child’s very existence.

Ali G returns after more than 20 years
Cohen created Ali G for Channel 4’s The 11 O’Clock Show in 1998. The character then led Da Ali G Show, which aired on Channel 4 in the UK and HBO in the US.
His first feature, Ali G Indahouse, followed in 2002. Ali G: Who Iz I? is the character’s first film since then. Cohen announced the project on Instagram in July, and Amazon MGM Studios released the first trailer in August.
