PARAMOUNT+ WRAPS FILMING ON AUSTRALIAN DRAMA WHO THE HELL IS HAMISH? – Paramount+ Australia has confirmed filming has wrapped on its new Australian original drama Who The Hell Is Hamish?.
The six-part series was filmed in Queensland. It will premiere globally on Paramount+ later in 2026.
For local streaming audiences, the project continues Paramount+’s push into Australian scripted originals. It also gives Queensland another major screen production with global reach.
Dominic Cooper and Claire van der Boom lead the cast. Hoodlum Entertainment and CBS Studios produce the series for Paramount+.
About Who The Hell Is Hamish?
Who The Hell Is Hamish? is inspired by the story of a fraudster and the people who worked to expose him.
The drama follows Hamish, played by Dominic Cooper. He targets Bec, a recently divorced single mother played by Claire van der Boom.
Bec has three sons and access to a significant family trust. As Hamish’s deception grows, she starts to notice gaps in his story and odd behaviour.
Her private doubts become part of a much larger case. The series follows suspected deception across continents, with more than $70 million believed to be involved.
Cast And Creative Team
The ensemble cast includes Dominic Cooper, Claire van der Boom, Simone Kessell, William McKenna, Kate Jenkinson, Miah Madden, Fraser Anderson, Yasmin Kassim and Doris Younane.
Also starring are Maria Angelico, Marta Dusseldorp, John Howard, Andrea Moor, Joel Jackson, Remy Hii, Damien Garvey, Jack LaTorre and Harvey Bowen.
The series was created and written by Adam Zwar. Jeffrey Walker directs and executive produces.
Hoodlum Entertainment CEO Tracey Robertson said the project had spent six years in development. She described the scripts as “full of wit, tension and deep compassion”.
Queensland Production
Who The Hell Is Hamish? was filmed in Queensland with support from Screen Australia and Screen Queensland.
Sophia Mogford, Head of Scripted and Comedy at Paramount Australia, said the drama reflects the platform’s aim to make premium international drama on home soil.
Screen Queensland CEO Jacqui Feeney said the series showcases local talent, crew, locations and post-production expertise.
The series has major production investment from Screen Australia. It is also financed with support from Paramount ANZ, the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland, and the City of Gold Coast Screen Attraction Program.
Paramount’s Global Content Distribution will handle global distribution.
WHO THE HELL IS HAMISH? will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ globally later in 2026.
