Netflix Unveils Official Trailer For Will Ferrell’s New Golf Comedy The Hawk — Netflix has released the official trailer, key art and new images for its upcoming comedy series The Hawk, starring Will Ferrell as legendary golfer Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins.
Premiering exclusively on Netflix on 16 July, the 10-episode comedy follows a sporting icon determined to prove he still has one final championship run left in him.
Will Ferrell Leads An All-Star Cast
Ferrell stars as Lonnie Hawkins, once regarded as the world’s greatest golfer after dominating the sport in 2004. Now in the twilight of his career, Hawkins refuses to accept that his time at the top has come to an end.
While his ageing body tells him it’s time to retire, Lonnie remains convinced he is just one great tournament away from completing golf’s elusive Grand Slam and cementing the greatest comeback in sporting history.
Standing in his way are not only younger rivals, but also those closest to him. His ex-wife and his son Lance, golf’s newest superstar, believe his playing days are well and truly behind him.
Comedy Heavyweights Join The Fairway
Joining Ferrell is an impressive ensemble cast including Molly Shannon, Jimmy Tatro, Fortune Feimster, Luke Wilson, Chris Parnell, Katelyn Tarver and David Hornsby.
The series is executive produced by Will Ferrell alongside Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor for Gloria Sanchez Productions.
Also serving as executive producers are filmmaker Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Chris Henchy, Harper Steele, David Gordon Green and Andrew Guest, while the PGA Tour is among the producers.
