Allen official trailer reveals Petey’s alien reunion before Netflix premiere – Netflix has released the full official trailer and new images for Allen, the Australian film about a man reunited with the alien friend he lost in childhood. The Queensland-set film premieres on 12 November 2026.
This is a new look at the film after Netflix’s earlier teaser. For Australian viewers, the coastal Queensland setting and local creative team put the story firmly at home, even as its premise turns on a secret that could change the world.
As a boy, Petey was inseparable from Allen. Then his alien friend vanished without a goodbye. Twenty years later Allen returns, but the reunion is complicated by the secret he brings back. Petey must finally grow up if he is to help save the world.

The new video expands on the childhood friendship and the unexpected reunion. It is the official Netflix trailer, following the shorter teaser released earlier in October.
Netflix calls Allen a hopeful story of friendship, adventure and Australian nostalgia. Its setting is a sun-drenched Queensland coastal town, with the relationship between Petey and Allen at the heart of the film.
Australian cast and filmmakers
Daley Pearson created Allen and co-directs with Jeffrey Walker. Pearson and Sophie Miller wrote the film. The cast includes T.J. Power, Charlotte Nicdao, Josh Helman, Emily Barclay and Benedict Hardie.
The film is a Ludo Studio production. Charlie Aspinwall and Pearson are executive producers for Ludo Studio, alongside Sophie Miller. Sam Moor produces for Ludo Studio with Ross Allsop, while Lauren Brown is co-producer.
When does Allen premiere?
Allen premieres on Netflix in Australia on Thursday, 12 November 2026. Alongside the trailer, Netflix released a new poster and five images from the film. Together, they reveal more of the alien friendship and Petey’s adult dilemma than the teaser did.
